Education and Skills - Building Bright Futures
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Learning Resource Assistant to join our busy, dedicated Learning Resources Hub (LRH) on a part-time, 29-hours per week contract.
Do you love books? Would you like to be part of a team that supports and enhances teaching and learning in schools? If yes, then please consider joining our busy Learning Resources Hub (LRH), the school’s library service dedicated to primary and special schools in Wiltshire and Swindon.
Membership of LRH is open to all primary, special and independent schools throughout Wiltshire and Swindon as well as neighbouring counties. LRH offers access to high quality teaching and learning resources including multimedia collections, book collections, resource collections and audio-visual collections.
As one of our Senior Learning Resources Assistants, you will work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Reporting to the Manager, you will be responsible for, and contribute to, a range of tasks within the service including bookings/issues, returns, shelving of resources and helping to keep the book stock in good order and appropriate for use, including sourcing new titles for purchase. Other responsibilities will include handling customer enquiries, creating ‘bespoke’ resource collections to satisfy requests, replenishing pre-packed collections and ensuring deliveries are loaded/unloaded and returned to their correct locations.
Our ideal candidate will have experience of working in a library or in a primary school, alongside substantial knowledge of the National Curriculum. Strong IT skills, effective organisational and time management skills and highly effective written and verbal communication skills, will be essential. Formal qualifications are not essential; however, a relevant qualification would be advantageous as would an interest in children’s literature and education.
If you meet the above criteria and would like to join a busy school library service to support pupils by providing resources they need to enhance their learning in the classroom, we encourage you to apply for this opportunity.
