The Children's Feeding and Dietetic Service (CFADS) in Essex is still expanding! Following the successful recruitment of 4 dietitians since April 2024 to support the community non-IgE under 1 milk allergy pathway and HEF service this year, the service has scope for further development.
We are looking to recruit a permanent, full-time, Band 7 Dietitian. The role will focus on supporting the existing Band 8a and Band 7's in the management, delivery, and clinical development of the service.
This role will suit a dynamic, forward-thinking dietitian with strong paediatric experience, people management/supervision skills, and a record of service innovation and development.
The Children's Feeding and Dietetic Service includes the Basildon, Brentwood and Thurrock Community Dietetic team, The Mid Essex HEF Team, the community non-IgE under 1 milk allergy pathway, and the MDT Physical Feeding Team. The teams work together to ensure the patients and families' experience is seamless. CFADS consists of dietitians, speech and language therapists, an occupational therapist, a children's nurse, 2 assistants, and administrative support.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work within the established community dietetic team providing paediatric dietetic advice, education, and support to patients, carers, and other health professionals within NELFT's communities, with a range of needs including: enteral feeding, faltering growth, nutrition support, coeliac disease, fussy eaters/limited diets, nutritional deficiencies, weight management, and constipation, but with a focus on supporting babies with cows milk allergy.
The cows milk allergy pathway is delivered virtually with targeted face-to-face support where clinically indicated. This and NELFT's policy on agile working supports opportunities for remote working, but it is essential to be able to support face-to-face assessments and the Service in general when needed.
