Base Location: Royal Bournemouth Hospital
Main duties of the job
To provide nursing expertise, facilitate evidence-based patient care, support the Trust strategy of delivering a quality healthcare service for patients and their families, and supervise and direct junior staff. You may be required to take charge of the ward area in the absence of the Ward Manager/deputies.

Qualifications
* NMC Registered Nurse
* Advanced Diploma/Degree in Adult Health Nursing Studies
* Teaching Qualification
* Post-registration courses related to the Elderly Care Directorate
Experience
* Experience of caring for patients with acute and long-term conditions
* Demonstrable clinical experience
* End of life care
* Experience of caring for Stroke Patients
Technical skills and competencies
* Basic IT skills
* Demonstrable ability with vital signs monitoring equipment and ability to recognize the deteriorating patient
* Non-IV and IV medication administration including administration of blood products
* Calculation of drug doses for infusions requiring frequent concentration
* Venepuncture and cannulation
* ECG recording
* Awareness of audit
* Specific Skills for ECD e.g Care of Dementia Patients
Knowledge
* Ability to demonstrate fundamental nursing knowledge and practice skills in the care of the elderly
* Knowledge of the conditions relevant to specialty
* Awareness of patient experience, quality and safety agendas that support Governance Frameworks
