As we grow the security team here at ESO, we are now looking for Policy & Engagement Leads to join our specialist Sector Security Team! As the Policy and Engagement lead within the Sector Security and Risk team your work will be a significant and core activity within the FSO. The purpose of this role is to work with subject matter experts internally and externally to support the delivery of our objectives for a secure, resilient and safe energy system.
This role can be based from Wokingham or Warwick, and we continue to offer hybrid working from office and home.
Key Accountabilities
Stakeholder Management
* Undertake regular stakeholder mapping exercises to develop and maintain an overview of the stakeholder landscape, their views and activities and issues that are likely to be important to them.
* Develop and deliver stakeholder engagement plans both internally and externally.
* Monitor and report on progress against the plan evaluating the effectiveness of activities using agreed tools and methodologies.
* Create and maintain a database of interested parties to receive security communications.
* Managing security engagement events and support the security team attending stakeholder events.
Policy
* Identifying, tracking, and adding context and value to the evolving strategy and policies across government and ESO
* Engaging with industry bodies and international partners.
* Working with new market participants in the energy sector to understand emerging risks.
* Provide insights into emerging risks, effectiveness of security controls, areas for investment/enhancement or areas of concern.
* Drive continuous improvement efforts based on insights gained from performance reporting.
Relationship Management
* Establish, maintain, and manage effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
Communications
* Communicate the stakeholder landscape and stakeholder engagement plans to security members and the Leadership Team.
* Record, report and present on engagement with key stakeholders.
* Proactively create opportunities to raise the profile of the work of the FSO.
About You
* Experience of working in the energy sector
* Ability to think whole system, making connections and building a comprehensive understanding of the policy and stakeholder environment.
* Understanding of energy security regulations and industry standards.
* Knowledge and expertise of security policy including cyber, physical and/or personnel security policy
* Experience working with diverse stakeholders, including energy sector participants, Government, Regulators, and Intelligence Agencies.
* Existing National Security Vetting Security Check clearance or the ability to achieve NSV SC.
What You'll Get
A competitive salary between £60,000 – 72,000 – dependent on experience and capability.
As well as your base salary, there is a bonus scheme, 28 days annual leave as standard, and a competitive contributory pension scheme.
