IT/Cyber Security Analyst
Location: Manchester | Salary: £35,000 | Contract: 6-Month FTC (with potential to become permanent)

In this role, you'll be a key player in helping our client protect their systems and data from potential threats. You'll work alongside our experienced IT Security Manager and wider IT team to enhance our cybersecurity framework and ensure our defences are always up to date. Whether it's through vulnerability scanning, mail and Internet gateway security, or working with industry-standard tools like SCCM, Nessus, and Mimecast, you'll be at the forefront of our efforts to stay secure and resilient.

Plus, with a 6-month fixed term contract to start, there's real potential for this to grow into a permanent role for the right candidate!
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support the IT Security Manager in protecting, detecting, and responding to cybersecurity threats.
2. Help develop, maintain, and enforce policies and procedures in line with UK regulations and other standards (working towards ISO27001).
3. Monitor and configure cybersecurity control systems, including internal and external vulnerability scanning tools.
4. Create reports on the company's security outlook.
5. Work closely with the IT Service Desk to respond to cybersecurity incidents.
6. Participate in key security meetings and contribute to ongoing risk assessments and improvements.
What You'll Bring:
1. Experience with cybersecurity tools like SCCM, Nessus, and Mimecast.
2. A solid understanding of cybersecurity concepts and best practices.
3. The ability to communicate complex technical information to different audiences.
4. A proactive mindset with a passion for cybersecurity and continuous learning.
Desirable Skills:
1. Knowledge of ITIL or ISO 27001 standards.
2. Cybersecurity certifications (eg, CISMP).
3. Experience with cloud security management.
