Job Title: Fire Safety Supervisor
Location: Dorchester, DT1
Hourly Rate: £19.10
Hours Available: 37.5 hours over a 5-day week. Core hours are 08:30 to 16:00, with a 30 min break - early start or late finish flexibility.
Contract: 6 months
Gi Group Recruitment is seeking to appoint a Fire Safety Supervisor to our public sector client based in Dorchester. The Fire Safety Supervisor will support the Fire Officer to provide technical and professional advice on the management of Fire Safety to all levels of management and staff. They will also act independently in the management of Fire Safety risk issues in response to those issues raised.
Duties of the Fire Safety Supervisor
1. Support the Fire Officer to provide expert professional guidance and support to Managers and Staff.
2. Manage, organise, implement, co-ordinate and maintain full and efficient Fire Safety practice and procedures and carry out the Fire Safety training of all Trust staff.
3. Provide specialist advice to staff and outside contractors in respect of statutory Fire Safety legislation in existing and new buildings incorporating HTM 05 (Fire Code) and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, with support from the Fire Officer.
4. Ensure all staff have access to Fire Safety training at least annually.
5. Carry out Fire Risk Assessments and review them annually. Prepare reports and prioritise action plans regarding the 'Significant Findings'.
Experience Required
1. Training in Healthcare Fire Safety.
2. Minimum 3 years' experience in fire safety auditing and compliance.
3. Experience of preparing and delivering training courses.
4. Practical knowledge and interpretation of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
5. Experience and knowledge of undertaking Fire Risk Assessments.
6. Knowledge of Fire legislation and codes of practice Fire safety training.
7. Ability to undertake fire safety audits.
8. Knowledge and experience in the application of Firecode.
9. Knowledge of risk management techniques.
10. Practical knowledge and interpretation of Current Building Regulations.
11. Degree level qualification or relevant demonstrable experience in Fire Safety auditing and compliance.
12. Membership of a professional organisation (for example, the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) or Institute of Fire Prevention Officers (IFPO)).
