Commercial Fitter We are working with a market leader in 24-hour Breakdown & Recovery Services, working with the likes of Local Authorities, Blue Light Emergency Services and Motoring Organisations as well private companies on a National basis. Due to an increase in work volumes and the commencement of new contracts. This is a varied and fast paced role that requires drivers to first and foremost have a “can do” attitude who are able to thrive under pressure and work on their own initiative, developing a dynamic and adaptive approach to all manner of recovery scenarios and helping the client to deliver a fast, efficient and professional service to our customers. Successful candidates will be required to attend Breakdowns & Accidents working on motorways and main roads throughout our operational area. The successful applicants must be qualified to NVQ/BTEC or City and Guilds level 3 standard in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or have served a relevant Apprenticeship. Full IVR accredited training is provided, and Career progression is available to all staff enabling them to add additional skills and even licence qualifications during their employment. Duties: · Vehicle Inspections (DVSA and FTA) · Fault finding, repairs & servicing of commercial vehicles and trailers. · MOT preparation (DVSA) · Vehicle servicing · Completion of all relevant paperwork · Use of diagnostic equipment · Making regular checks on machinery · Regular maintenance work · Checking and calibrating equipment · Investigating, diagnosing and repairing machine faults · Fixing faults promptly · Using in-depth knowledge of the machinery to diagnose faults · The ability to investigate and diagnose technical faults and take ownership to resolve problems. · Completion of all required paperwork, including job cards and service sheets using online systems · To work safely and comply with H&S legislation and company procedures at all time Requirements: · Ideally candidates would have a minimum of 5 years’ experience working with, repairing and servicing · Recognised apprenticeship preferably a higher-level standard. · Proficient in English, both written and verbal. · Strong leadership skills with the ability to work alone or in a team. · Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. · Have good interpersonal skills. · Be able to work to targets Pay: Up to £18.00 per hour Benefits: Company pension Free parking On-site parking Schedule: 12 hour shift – 4 on 2 off Day shift Holidays Weekend availability Experience: MIG welding: 1 year (preferred) Fabrication: 1 year (preferred) Vehicle Inspections to DVSA and FTA standards: 1 year (preferred) Work Location: In person
