Position:
An opportunity has arisen for a permanent Pharmacy Support Worker Team Leader working across South Ayrshire with an option of Annex 21 (please see below).
What you will do:
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the GP Pharmacy Services to lead a team of pharmacy support workers, who provide a pharmaceutical service to care homes, care at home and GP practices across Ayrshire & Arran that minimises harm, waste and variation, improving the quality of medicines management, reducing waste and delivering medicine efficiencies in all care settings.
This is a new role, therefore provides scope for an experience pharmacy support worker to evolve the role and develop a team to support delivery of pharmacy services.
You will work with pharmacy technicians and pharmacists, considering work plans and practice placements for the pharmacy support workers.
You will lead the team of Pharmacy Support Workers (PSWs), who provide a pharmaceutical service to care homes, care at home and GP practices across Ayrshire & Arran that minimises harm, waste and variation, improving the quality of medicines management, reducing waste and delivering medicine efficiencies in all care settings.
You will be a practicing Pharmacy Support Worker to assist pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to undertake routine tasks to support safe, evidence based, rational and cost-effective prescribing. Some of these tasks may require a degree of technical expertise e.g. non clinical medication review.
You will be responsible for the management and coordination of the Pharmacy Support Worker team.

Please note: There is an option for this post to be an Annex 21 which means you would receive 75% of the salary until the management qualification required is completed. This qualification will be under taken at college over a 12 week period.
