FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER

Our client has been in operation since the mid 1800s with over 500 employees. They service the agricultural, construction, fire & security, and ground care industries, specialising in service, maintenance, and groundcare machinery. They are a family-owned business, who pride themselves on their supportive and caring culture.
PURPOSE OF A FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER
We are seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer or someone looking to move their career to field-based to join their team in Devizes. Reporting to the Service and Installations Supervisor, you will be responsible for servicing, installing, maintaining, and repairing grain and bulk materials handling and drying plant and machinery. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys travel, meeting new people, and building long-term working relationships. We provide ample opportunities for personal development, including on-the-job training and certified courses. Ideally, candidates should be located within an hour's radius of Devizes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF A FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER:
1. Perform installation, planned preventative maintenance, and repairs on a variety of plant and machinery.
2. Respond to emergency and reactive maintenance requests as needed.
3. Ensure all work is documented and conducted in line with Standard Operating Procedures.
4. Provide emergency cover as required (1 week in 4 during the harvest season).
5. Deliver excellent customer service and maintain effective self-management while on-site.
6. Adhere to Health & Safety, COSHH, and company policies.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
1. Background in mechanical service with a desire to enhance their skill set.
2. Experienced Engineer with a background in heavy machinery.
3. Preferably experienced in the servicing and installation of mechanical plant and machinery (not essential).
4. Capable of fabricating parts or components as necessary.
5. Ability to read equipment manuals and mechanical/electrical drawings.
6. Strong communication skills for liaising with both internal and external customers.
7. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
8. Full UK Driving Licence.
9. Desirable qualifications: CSCS, CPCS, IPAF, PASMA.
SALARY/BENEFITS:
Competitive pay of up to £14-16 per hour, (£30,000 – 34,000) depending on experience. Company vehicle after 6 months and specialist tools provided (applicants to supply their own basic tools).
