Job: Surveyor

BRC are working with a Housing Association who are looking for a dedicated and experienced surveyor to join their team based in Bridgend on a temporary contract basis. You will provide a proactive, efficient and effective broad surveying service throughout their property portfolio. You will also ensure the accurate provision of specifications of works, works schedules, job raising, contractor liaison, health, safety & regulatory compliance; and ensure a customer-centred approach is always maintained.
Main Responsibilities:
Actively support the Senior Surveyor in the delivery of highly efficient customer focused technical services delivered within the Company’s policies and procedures, satisfying legal and regulatory requirements and ensuring best practice as well as meeting agreed service delivery standards.
Prepare work specifications, provide technical advice, prepare reports, liaise with tenants, manage repair projects through to completion and ensure high quality standards are achieved.
Undertake technical and specialist construction survey work to tenanted and empty properties to include the assessment and diagnosis of damp mould and condensation issues, carrying out HHSRS assessments, disrepair schedules, provision of detailed works specifications, prioritising works, and assist in the planning process.
Provide surveying advice and guidance to colleagues on mutual exchanges and minor works surveys where required.
Ensure all asset management information is used and updated through all activities.
Prepare work schedules and specifications including the preparation of individual reports on properties and other assets as required.
Adaptations and associated support works.
Assist in coordinating the installation of adaptations to properties including receipt of referrals, maintaining database information, liaison with tenants and Social Services, contractor selection, on-site quality control and budget monitoring.
Liaise with others on the provision of DFG and other enabling services including working with third parties, customers, and their families, where required.
Job Requirements
Driver with access to own vehicle
Experience of surveying and/or professional qualification - HND/HNC
Experience working in social housing or local authority in maintenance and refurbishment
Knowledge of legislation and best practices regarding housing or property services
Demonstrate experience of budget and resource planning and monitoring
