Role Overview
We are seeking a Commercial Waste Officer to join the Waste and Street Cleansing team. You will be a motivated individual with commercial waste experience to help retain and acquire new commercial waste customers within the London Borough of Richmond. Your responsibilities include advising business owners on storage and disposal of commercial waste and recycling, and obtaining new business in accordance with current legislation and pricing.
You will be responsible for achieving revenue objectives through customer retention, liaising with existing and new customers, contributing to the development of a new commercial waste system, and leading the delivery of a commercial food waste service to support new legislation.
The role requires proactive engagement, working with external contractors to ensure high service performance, monitoring collection performance, and working to improve services as needed.
Home working is permitted subject to operational requirements and policies, with equipment provided. Regular travel around the boroughs for site visits and meetings, including early mornings or evenings, is expected.
