VANRATH are delighted to be assisting our major Public Sector client, a large and well-known organisation with the recruitment of a Business Development Project Officer to join their team based in Newtownabbey.
This is a Full-Time Monday-Friday position. Temporary contract expected to last for a minimum of 6 months.

Responsibilities:
* Support the delivery of economic development programmes such as business mentoring, networking, and small business grants.
* Provide economic advice and guidance to businesses, individuals, and other relevant organisations.
* Organise events and activities aligned with economic development and regeneration strategies.
* Assist in securing and managing external funding by preparing applications and progress reports.
* Review business plans and financial documentation, assisting with project assessments and appraisals.
* Monitor and evaluate funded projects to ensure they meet objectives and reporting requirements.
* Promote economic development activities via communication channels such as press releases, social media, and promotional materials.
* Assist with budget management, financial reporting, and procurement processes.
* Support internal teams and external partners in the development and implementation of economic projects.
* Adhere to policies on health, safety, and safeguarding.
* Perform other duties as required by the role.
Essential Criteria:
* Relevant qualification or at least 3 years' experience in economic development, community development, or related fields.
* At least 1 year's experience in economic development activities.
* Strong planning, administrative, and financial skills.
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
* Valid driving license and access to transport.
Desirable Criteria:
* Experience in project/programme management, funding applications, and financial claims.
* Familiarity with EU and other funding programs.
