Are you fascinated by the future of mobility and want to play a key role in our Design Architecture and modeling team? Do you have experience as a hardware IP Microarchitect or Concept Engineer and want to take the next step in your career? Then, our team in Bristol is waiting for you! Join us as a Principal MicroArchitect/Concept Engineer and help us enable megatrends like automated driving AI. As a Principal MicroArchitect/Concept Engineer, you will translate application requirements into microcontroller system architectures—working with experts from various Infineon teams as well as key customers.
In your new role you will:
1. Translate customer application needs into models or descriptions of our functional building blocks
2. Take ownership for specifying cross-functional Building Blocks, acting as the technical expert, and developing concepts for hardware and software
3. Serve as the interface between customers, application engineering, and development teams while building cross-functional networks
4. Own the specifications, aiming for optimal compromise between customer needs and Infineon requirements
5. Develop and maintain technical documentation such as Specifications, Functional Safety Analysis, and User Manuals to ensure ISO26262 compliance
You enjoy problem solving with attention to detail but also keep the big picture in mind. Your approach is innovative yet methodical, supported by curiosity and logic. Strong communication skills and customer orientation help you build long-term relationships.
You are best suited for this role if you have:
1. A degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field
2. At least 8 years of relevant experience in Concept/Architecture, IC design/verification, or related fields
3. Very good knowledge of state-of-the-art high-scale integrated SoCs based on latest technologies, high-performance & low-power microcontroller infrastructure
4. Experience in defining Hardware Specifications and User Manuals
5. Microcontroller and automotive application knowledge is a plus
6. Basic knowledge of safety standards such as ISO26262, ISO21434, and FMEDA is a plus
7. Fluency in English (mandatory)
