This role offers a fantastic opportunity for an experienced payroll professional to support payroll operations, contribute to process improvements, and work in a supportive and collaborative environment. As a key member of this broad payroll team, the Payroll Assistant will play an essential role in ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of employee payroll. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of payroll systems and statutory compliance, who is eager to provide exceptional support and maintain a high standard of accuracy. Key Responsibilities: - Payroll Processing: Support the processing of the full payroll cycle for employees, ensuring timely and accurate payments. - Statutory Compliance: Assist in ensuring compliance with all relevant statutory regulations, including PAYE, National Insurance, pensions, and other legislative requirements. - Query Resolution: Respond to payroll-related queries from employees and stakeholders in a professional and timely manner, providing accurate advice and solutions. - System Support: Contribute to reviewing and improving payroll systems, streamlining processes, and driving efficiency. - Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records, ensuring data security and compliance with GDPR regulations. - Reporting Assistance: Help prepare payroll-related reports for management, including summaries of costs, variances, and other key metrics. - Collaboration: Work closely with HR and finance teams to ensure smooth integration of payroll processes with other business functions. To excel in this role, you should have experience in payroll processing, ideally within a medium to large organisation. In addition, you will be confident performing payroll calculations and possess a strong understanding of UK payroll legislation, tax regulations, and pension schemes. Naturally, you will possess excellent attention to detail and organisational skills, with the ability to manage deadlines effectively.
