Job Description:
The Engineering Team Leader is required for a market-leading manufacturer who is growing and investing. They are a successful independent company offering a personable working environment along with opportunities for training and progression.
The successful Engineering Team Leader will need to have a formal engineering qualification to at least City & Guilds, ONC/HNC or equivalent and experience of supervising/managing a team.
The role will centre on managing, leading, and supervising a team of engineers as they develop, test, modify, and create solutions to technical problems. A key element of the role is to manage, coach, and mentor direct reports including Apprentices by modelling best practice and demonstrating how to complete tasks effectively and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and manage all maintenance engineering activities whilst on shift.
2. Manage, lead, and supervise a team of engineers as they develop, test, modify, and create solutions to technical problems.
3. Model best practice and demonstrate how to complete tasks effectively and efficiently.
4. Ensure that maximum uptime is achieved by using exacting engineering standards in the most efficient ways possible.
5. Aid the Engineering Manager in ensuring engineering solutions are put in place to permanently fix breakdowns/failures and that the root cause is identified and addressed.
6. Ensure continuous improvement with regards to planned preventative maintenance (PPM), including reporting on the overall effectiveness of the system.
7. Undertake and assume responsibility for key elements of engineering projects and ensure all tasks are completed on time, as instructed by the senior engineering management team.
8. Ensure that all procedures relating to health and safety are employed by all engineering personnel and contractors.
9. Provide training and ad hoc guidance and support to engineers and engineering apprentices to increase their skills and knowledge base.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Formal engineering qualification to at least City & Guilds, ONC/HNC or equivalent.
2. Experience of supervising/managing a team.
