Job Purpose Reporting to the Head of Finance – Customer & Transformation, this role is one of influencing and partnering our Marketing team to drive commercial performance across our business and providing dedicated support for our loyalty scheme and retail media offering. This role is an integral part of the Commercial Finance team, business partnering the Marketing team supported by a finance business partner and analyst. Key Responsibilities Dedicated senior finance partner to the Marketing Director with cross functional involvement with all Commercial functions across both our Retail and Autocentre divisions, e.g. Trading, Digital, and Garages to deliver the optimal plan. Shape and support the marketing finance partner to deliver weekly and monthly divisional reporting of A&P spend, including the preparation of month end results and articulation of in-month spend performance vs expectation. Deliver the annual budget and reforecasts of marketing spend, highlighting risks and opportunities to ensure strategy is in line with overall business and individual divisional objectives. Financial responsibility of advertising and promotional spend, supporting the establishment of a measurement framework with which to appraise the effectiveness of investment in this area. Deliver robust trial and test performance evaluations utilising robust financial analysis coupled with non-financial measures to provide clear conclusions and recommendations. Influence the Marketing teams to capitalise on trading opportunities and minimise potential threats by identifying and highlighting trends and understanding the impact of trading and commercial decisions on longer term projections. Provision of weekly and monthly KPI reporting on the performance of our loyalty scheme, including articulation of performance vs expectation, alongside working collaboratively with the wider Finance team to create timely and robust P&L performance reporting. Commercial support and business case creation on key marketing activities such as new loyalty scheme customer proposition and cross shop initiatives alongside dedicated finance support for our Retail Media activities. Dedicated finance partner on all marketing led investments and contract renewals, including preparation of relevant materials to take to investment board. Effective line management of a finance business partner and indirect management of an analyst including prioritisation of day-to-day activities, setting objectives that align to finance team and overall business objectives and ongoing development support. Ad hoc analysis, support and ability to deputise for the Head of Finance – Customer & Transformation as required. Key Skills/Experience Professional Qualification (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent). A proven track record of high performance in a commercial finance business partnering role driving bottom-line performance. Excellent commercial acumen – ability to understand the business objectives and focus activity to yield the greatest commercial benefit. Dynamic and outcome-driven individual with high levels of energy, flexibility and commitment. An effective communicator with excellent presentation skills and gravitas; articulate and persuasive; able to build strong relationships through collaborative working and influence across the business at all levels. Understanding of SAP and ability to execute month end processes and reporting preferred. Experience of line management, approachable and committed to support team development and progression.
