We are currently working in partnership with an Educational Institute based in South West London who are looking to appoint a permanent Finance Officer on a full-time basis. This position is available as either a permanent role or a temporary-to-permanent opportunity. The offered permanent salary ranges from £26,000 to £28,000 per annum, negotiable based on experience. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of the sales processes and credit control. Please note that the successful candidate will have an enhanced DBS taken out upon starting in the post. For the interim role, the candidate will need to be DBS holder. Duties will include (but are not limited to): Set up new customers in finance software Generate and send sales and recharge invoices promptly Reconcile the Master Listing for the organisation Submit invoices to Local Authorities and update portals as needed Maintain credit control schedules and lead weekly finance meetings on invoicing and outstanding debts Communicate with local authorities regarding invoices, payments and queries Weekly meetings to address payment queries with the Business Development Team Monthly meeting to confirm pupil numbers for invoicing Assist in preparing monthly management accounts and deferred income Record and match receipts to invoices, following up on discrepancies Monitor and manage the invoicing email inbox Support financial audits and assist the Finance Team as needed Skills, knowledge and experience required: Familiarity with the SAGE finance system is desirable Strong understanding of invoicing through to payment receipt Background in working with or managing transactions with Local Authorities or complex organisations is desirable Ability to meet deadlines, handle pressure, and prioritse tasks effectively Capable of organising workload and working independently Intermediate excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and SUMIFs Strong interpersonal skills for engaging with external stakeholders Working hours: 35 hours per week Monday to Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm Hybrid working set up: 1 – 2 days from home per week Please note that you require recent experience to apply for this role.
