About you:
Do you have a passion for rehabilitation? Are you an RMN looking for a new opportunity or wishing to return to practice? Are you interested in supporting staff to reach their potential? Do you want a combination of leading a ward and practicing clinically? If this sounds like you, we welcome your application to be considered as a ward manager here at Nelson House.
About us:
Nelson House is a modern and spacious 28-bedded Rehabilitation and Recovery mental health unit providing care for men of adult working age with mental illness. Located on the South Coast in Gosport, it is centrally located with access to beaches and the New Forest. We have two wards: Trafalgar, our High Dependency Ward, and Victory, which is a step-down ward.
By focusing on the development of skills for independence, the unit provides a positive step for patients, many of whom will transition to living in the community. It helps patients learn new ways of managing their conditions and symptoms to prevent future relapse. For patients with challenging behaviours, Nelson House helps them learn skills to change their response to anxiety and distress.
We have a full MDT, with Psychology and Occupational Therapy being key drivers within our unit.
The Ward Manager Role
We are looking for an RMN with inpatient experience, including leadership and management. The role is well supported by an established, professional, and friendly MDT. You will need to demonstrate strong leadership skills and be a role model to others to join our highly motivated and enthusiastic team.
You will provide direct management supervision to two deputy ward managers. A significant part of this role is leading the team and managing the running of the wards.
You will cover two wards, with the support of your deputies (one for each ward) and the Director of Clinical Services.
Your responsibilities include planning, overseeing, and coordinating the quality and management of nursing care, patient care, and the clinical environment, along with staffing, rota management, and ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and quality standards.
You will also participate in the on-call rota.
For an informal discussion, please contact Michael Mangwiro, Director of Clinical Services.
We are proud to offer you:

* £5k Golden Hello
* Many benefits in line with the NHS
* Working with a dedicated multidisciplinary team
