Primary Teaching Assistant (SEMH)
Prospero Teaching are working with an ‘Good’ Ofsted rated Primary School based in Portsmouth recruiting a Primary Teaching Assistant (SEMH).
The School are looking for individuals that are supportive, non-judgemental, patient, easy to talk to, positive and flexible. You must be able to speak to pupils in a manner which encourages and supports them, enabling you to build trusting relationships.
Previous experience of working with young people is desirable. Experience working with children with SEMH and those with social communication difficulties would be an advantage. A team player with patience, understanding and a willingness to develop is needed.

Experience, Training and Qualifications:
Calming mannerisms in challenging situations.
Strong behaviour management skills while creating a fun learning environment.
Driven to motivate the pupil and increase his participation.
The ability to grow individual personal development.
Be caring, patient and have good communication skills.
Be self-reflective, have a willingness to learn and demonstrate initiative.
Experience supporting an individual with Autism.
Willing to complete Safeguarding online training.
Complete a face-to-face over video call
To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:
Hold right to work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
Provide two professional child related references
