The Ventures, Innovation and Partnerships team is a new team at HSBC charged with delivering the most important strategic initiatives for the organisation. This team aims to bring 10x ideas and innovation into tangible form with product-led, customer centric and data-informed ways of thinking and working. Group AI Management and Strategy (AIMS) team is responsible for developing and implementing Group-wide strategic programs across HSBC aimed at accelerating the commercialisation and delivery of Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning (AI/ML). Key areas of focus include responsible development practices, common platforms and capabilities, AI technology enablement, governance, and the Group-wide AI Strategy. In this fantastic, new senior role, you will lead Group-wide AI Enablement. This is a critical role for HSBC and will harden the Group’s industry-leading best practices in developing and deploying AI/ML responsibly while creating reusable patterns and common capabilities that reduce complexity across our Data Science ecosystem and improve the time to market for development efforts. You will form deep relationships with Data Science and Technology leaders across the Group and lead strategic initiatives towards establishing and scaling common AI/ML capabilities for group-wide consumption. In this role you will: Develop a detailed knowledge of Global Business (GB) and Global Functions (GF) development activities, strategic goals, and challenges. Perform product and operational analytics to identify key drivers for scaled delivery of AI/ML across the group. Identify the need for common platforms and capabilities that will enable Data Science teams across the Group to develop rapidly and at scale. Establish business wide development patterns for achieving key Data Science outcomes (e.g., RAG chains, AI Red Teaming). Collaborate with diverse teams to develop workplans for operationalising key capabilities and platforms. Requirements To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements: Extensive Data infrastructure/Data architecture background or machine learning engineer experience Extensive, evidential ability to deliver large scale AI/ML capabilities. Strong familiarity with Cloud Service Provider services and capabilities (e.g., EC2, EMR, Kinesis, Lambda, Transcribe, GCP Cloud Functions). Exceptionally strong programme management, relationship management, and strategic skill sets Software Development background with an emphasis on operationalising Data Science capabilities (e.g., Speech transcription Analytics, Personalisation Engine) is highly desirable.
