Finance & Payroll Officer, Shrewsbury

Hays are working exclusively with a public sector organisation who are looking for an experienced Finance & Payroll Officer to join their team in Shrewsbury. This role could either be full-time or the organisation would also consider part-time, focusing more on Payroll.
Your new role
You will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for employees, with duties including:
1. Processing end to end payroll for monthly paid employees.
2. Managing time and attendance records.
3. Managing starters, leavers, and benefits.
4. Ensuring compliance with legislation.
5. Resolving payroll queries.
6. Investigating discrepancies.
7. Payroll year-end.
8. Payroll analysis.
9. Finance duties.
What you'll need to succeed
1. Proven experience in payroll and knowledge of UK payroll regulations and taxation.
2. Confident in Microsoft Office packages, especially Excel and ideally Sage payroll.
3. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
4. Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
5. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
6. Transport required due to location.
