Reporting to the Group Head of Biodiversity you will assist in the delivery of the Biodiversity and Ecology Policy and nature based commitments across the Barratt Redrow Group. You will also help Divisions with understanding and meeting the biodiversity related regulations established through the Environment Act 2021. The position includes designing and delivering nature based approaches, rolling out corporate best practice, management procedures, guidance and practical toolkits for Divisional teams. A key element of the role is to undertake reviews of biodiversity net gain metrics and plans submitted by Divisions and analyse or create maps in a GIS (ArcGIS or QGIS). The Group Biodiversity Coordinator will also work closely with colleagues from RSPB, supporting delivery of the RSPB Partnership across the Group and continuing to engage Divisions in implementing our RSPB commitments. More specifically, as the Group Biodiversity Coordinator you will support the Group Head of Biodiversity in the following: Help devise and create processes that enable Barratt Redrow Divisions meet our commitments and their legal obligations. Communicate and embed those processes across the company. Where necessary support Divisions specific ecological advice related to biodiversity net gain, the biodiversity metric, nutrient neutrality and species and habitat protection. To identify case studies of innovative approaches to biodiversity enhancement in planning, design, solution testing, etc. Assess the potential for implementing new biodiversity and environmental sustainability measures across Barratt Redrow operations, with a view to understanding, prioritising and ensuring nature positive outcomes. To integrate biodiversity data and targets with other sustainability parameters and include in sustainability reporting (external and internal). Present reports, update progress and at times, conduct PowerPoint presentations to different parts of the business. To promote and raise the profile associated with the benefits of biodiversity enhancement among Local Authorities, the local community, and opportunities for education, access, recreation. To lead the delivery of relevant internal working groups. Assist with communications to promote biodiversity at Barratt Redrow which may include media releases. Provide support for any internships. What we are looking for: A minimum BSc Hons Ecology or conservation related degree. GIS knowledge and experience (ARC or QGIS) essential. Full and clean driving licence as there will be necessary travel required throughout the UK. Experience of working in the conservation and environmental sectors for a minimum of 3 years. Self-confident, articulate, resilient and able to thrive under pressure. Strong presentation and communication skills. Able to rapidly absorb new and complex information with ease. Is passionate about the customer and is a role model of this behaviour to others in the business. Fully conversant with Microsoft packages, in particular Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
