Reservoir EngineerThis role sits within the Prax Upstream business unitLocation: AberdeenReporting to: Head of SubsurfaceAbout the role:Prax Upstream is growing and we are looking for an experienced Reservoir Engineer to join our subsurface team to support our portfolio of UK operated and non-operated exploration and production assets, and business development activities. You will be joining Prax Upstream at an exciting time and this will be an integral role in the subsurface team. Our mission is to conduct business responsibly, placing excellence, integrity, and philanthropy at the heart of everything we do.Main Responsibilities and Duties:Interpret reservoir engineering data including PVT, fluid, well test, pressure and production data Build, maintain and history match simulations models working collaboratively with the subsurface team to ensure successful outcomes of static and dynamic modelling projectsProvide well performance analysis including production profiles and forecasts, Provide input into production optimization e.g. debottlenecking and sensitivity analysisProvide reserve/resource estimates, including for incremental opportunities, as requiredProvide input into the design and evaluation of Field Development Plans (FDPs)Provide input into drilling and completion planning including well data acquisition programmesPost-well production evaluations and monitoring activitiesProvide input into decommissioning activities Provide reservoir engineering support to new business evaluations including economic analysisRepresent Prax Upstream at meetings with external parties as required e.g. Technical Committee Meetings, workshops, conferencesSupervise external contractors for specialist studiesMentor and develop junior reservoir engineersRequirements:Master’s degree in Petroleum or Reservoir EngineeringExtensive experience in the UKCS within an operating oil and gas company including a solid working knowledge of exploration, appraisal, development and production activitiesSkilled hands-on practitioner in building, history matching and using dynamic models for production forecasting Demonstrate commitment to SHEQFluent written and spoken EnglishMust be proficient in the following: Providing input to Reservoir Engineering elements of field development plansRunning Eclipse/TNAV or equivalent simulation modelling toolsPerforming reservoir engineering riskand uncertainty analysisProviding reserves and resource estimates within a recognised international framework e.g. PRMSUsing analytical software techniques including knowledge of well testing tools (e.g. Saphir) and material balance tools (e.g. MBAL)Highly motivated with excellent communication, analytical and interpersonal skills:Ability to communicate complex information to technical and non-technical audiencesExcellent level of written and presentation skillsAbility work to tight deadlines and perform effectively under pressureAbility to work well in an interdisciplinary team environment
