Main duties of the job
As a Bank Senior Occupational Therapist, you will:
* Independently manage a varied caseload using the OT process
* Provide expert assessment and functional treatment in acute, outpatient, and community settings
* Carry out specialist cognitive and perceptual assessments
* Complete home assessments, discharge planning, and recommend adaptive equipment
* Make clinical decisions in complex cases, supporting high-quality patient care
* Offer expert clinical advice to the wider team
* Supervise and support junior staff and students when required

* Strong post-qualification experience in relevant clinical settings
* Confident clinical reasoning and independent working
* Adaptable and proactive approach

Person Specification
Qualification
* Degree or Diploma in OT
* HCPC registration
* Evidence of post graduate CPD
Skill
* Ability to work single-handedly with individuals and groups
* Ability to manage own workload and determine priorities related to the acute, physical setting
* Ability to work under pressure
* Ability to reflect and critically appraise own performance
* Good understanding of how the OT role relates within the acute, physical NHS setting
* Training and facilitation skills
* Use of an electronic patient record
Experience
* Knowledge of evidence-based practice and service improvement
* Understanding of professional ethics and their application in practice
* Ability to clinically reason/plan intervention independently
* Experience of research and audit
* Advice and informal supervision to support staff and students
Special
* Willingness to rotate clinical area of work
* Must be able to travel between sites
* Car driver with license
