GP Partner Post
Devonshire Green and Hanover Medical Centres Central Sheffield
We are looking for a GP Partner to join our friendly team. We provide excellent primary care and innovative services to a diverse city centre patient population of around 9,000 patients.
Main duties of the job
In accordance with the Practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make him/herself available to undertake a variety of duties including:
1. Surgery consultations
2. Telephone consultations and queries
3. Visiting patients at home
4. Checking and signing repeat prescriptions
5. Dealing with queries, paperwork, reports, and correspondence in a timely fashion
6. Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems
7. Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
8. Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
9. Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients
10. Providing counselling and health education
11. Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate
12. Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
13. Collecting data for audit purposes and complying with QOF requirements
14. Delivering enhanced services
15. Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions
16. Prescribing in accordance with the Practice prescribing formulary whenever clinically appropriate
About us
Our practice is a supportive place to work, and we value our dedicated team which currently consists of four GP Partners, two Salaried GPs, a Physicians Associate, Clinical Pharmacist, Physio, Practice Nurses, Health Care Assistant plus our management and admin team. We are active members of our Primary Care network and work with people experiencing homelessness, providing opportunities to develop skills in tackling health inequalities.
We are looking for four to six clinical sessions (with flexibility for the right applicant). We are an active training practice with GP registrars and have a strong history of delivering post-graduate medical education. There are opportunities to develop teaching skills with supervision from experienced educators.
We are a research active practice and interested applicants would have opportunities to develop research skills. We have strong links with the Deep End network of practices, serving the most socioeconomically deprived areas of Yorkshire and the Humber and who are passionate about tackling health inequity.
We support early career GPs to access training opportunities including Trailblazer or follow other interests you may bring to the post.
