Job title: Project Manager - Organisational & Digital Change
Location: Hybrid - Derby
Salary: Up to £51,000 + benefits
Type: Permanent | Full-time
Ref: 46459
Overview
We're currently supporting a large, values-led charity that's undergoing a significant transformation programme. As part of a wider change and improvement agenda, they're looking to appoint a Project Manager to support the delivery of a range of digital and operational change initiatives. These projects vary in scale and focus - from core finance systems and back-office functions to digital enablement and the design of new operating models, but all have one thing in common: delivering real, human impact.
This is not just a delivery role. It's for someone who can lead change across people, process and technology. Someone who can support operational teams, navigate stakeholders at all levels, and bring structure, clarity and empathy to change journeys.
You'll be joining a collaborative Strategy, Change & Performance function, working closely with Programme Managers, Senior Stakeholders, and Operational Leaders across the business.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead the delivery of end-to-end business change projects across the portfolio, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and benefits.
2. Work across the full project lifecycle, from scoping and business case development through to implementation, embedding and lessons learned.
3. Manage project teams (including matrix and virtual teams), allocating tasks, tracking progress, and resolving delivery blockers.
4. Design and implement appropriate project controls, governance frameworks and methodologies in line with the organisation's Change Framework.
5. Support Programme Managers with wider programme-level planning and resource alignment.
6. Deliver change initiatives that are both digital and people-focused - helping colleagues understand and adapt to new systems, processes, and ways of working.
7. Collaborate with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams, ensuring clear communication and effective engagement throughout the project lifecycle.
8. Identify, assess and mitigate project risks and interdependencies.
9. Take ownership of benefit tracking, ensuring outcomes are measurable, achievable and realised over time.
10. Foster a positive project culture that aligns with the organisation's values of respect, nurture and inspire.
Essential Experience:
1. Proven experience managing business change or digital transformation projects, ideally within values-driven, public sector, charity, health, or housing environments.
2. Strong track record of delivering change initiatives that involve both digital/tech implementation and operational/cultural transition.
3. Experience supporting colleagues through change, including communications, engagement, training and adoption.
4. Able to plan strategically and deliver tactically - from stakeholder management through to hands-on project delivery.
5. Highly effective communicator - able to hold a room, build trust quickly, and foster collaboration.
6. Familiar with core project governance, planning and reporting practices.
Desirable Experience & Qualifications:
1. Prince2, MSP or Agile qualifications.
2. Familiarity with core back-office systems (e.g. finance systems, HRIS).
3. Experience working alongside PMs within larger transformation programmes.
4. Understanding of benefits realisation planning and monitoring.
Why Join?
1. Purpose-led organisation with a clear social mission.
2. Huge variety of work, no two projects are the same.
3. A supportive and collaborative change environment.
4. Strong commitment to personal development.
5. Excellent work-life balance with a flexible hybrid model.
6. Competitive salary and benefits package.
