We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Civils Supervisor to projects within our Water division. The Civils Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating and managing on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to project specifications, timelines, and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a thorough understanding of civil engineering principles and practices. Responsibilities Coordinate and supervise civil engineering projects from start to finish, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and within budget. Manage and allocate resources effectively, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to meet project requirements and deadlines. Oversee the day-to-day activities of construction crews and subcontractors, providing guidance, direction, and support as needed to ensure work is performed to the highest standards. Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents, ensuring compliance with project requirements and regulatory standards. Conduct regular site inspections and quality assurance checks to monitor progress, identify issues, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues, address design changes, and implement solutions in a timely manner. Maintain accurate records of project activities, including daily logs, progress reports, and documentation of work performed, materials used, and resources expended. Monitor project costs and budgets, identifying variances and implementing cost control measures to ensure projects remain within budgetary constraints. Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and project team members, providing regular updates on project status, milestones, and potential risks. Enforce site safety regulations and practices, conducting safety meetings, toolbox talks, and inspections to promote a culture of safety and minimise workplace incidents. Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment to support construction activities. Mentor and train junior staff members, providing guidance on best practices, technical skills, and safety protocols to support their professional development. Skills and Experience Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field required. Proven experience working in a supervisory role on civil engineering projects, preferably within the water industry. Thorough understanding of civil engineering principles, construction techniques, and building codes. Strong leadership abilities, with the ability to motivate and manage multidisciplinary teams effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact confidently with clients, subcontractors, and project team members. Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents. Solid organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong problem-solving abilities, with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset. Commitment to upholding high standards of safety, quality, and professionalism. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
