About the role (12-month FTC) Hybrid role 1 day onsite at London bankside, home working with occasional travel to Chessington. Job Purpose: To drive and deliver a mutually profitable plan for Alliance Healthcare. To act as a lead for all Haleon categories across all functions and in the eyes of the customer. This role requires a passionate and determined individual who has a proactive approach to work and a self-starter attitude to learning and developing themselves. Due to the strategic nature of this role, the individual will need to be able to work cross-functionally and be an active contributor to an MFT or input when requested. To own the P&L, driving for results and best in class execution across all customer platforms To be an expert in the Pharmacy Wholesale channel and understand how to manage a complex category within Alliance Healthcare. Scope of responsibility: Strategic Planning – To develop and deliver a business strategy within Alliance Healthcare across the Haleon portfolio which delivers long term sustainable profit growth. Customer Contact – To build relationships with key customer contacts and utilise these relationships to influence decisions being made. To make key category recommendations to the customer on range, distribution, space promotions and NPD Financial Management – To build a range of P&L’s in order to understand the shape and profitability of the business and identify opportunities for future growth. To build and develop a robust commercial calendar that delivers both against Haleon and customer needs. Interpersonal skills – Core competencies: Adopting a cross functional approach to ensure engagement and support across multiple teams so that they can act as a champion for the customer ensuring their needs are continually met and exceeded. Engaging in a mindset that persistently questions standard practices, so that new ideas and approaches can be looked at in order to deliver even more profitable results. Continually monitors performance and systems to see what can be refined. Relish stepping out of their comfort zone in order to accept new changes and the opportunities they bring. Basic Education / Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent Understanding of how an Account Manager/Buyer relationship functions. Broad business knowledge and market understanding. A tenacious and entrepreneurial approach in the role is key to building and sustaining new long term relationships. Financial numeracy to be able to build strategically sound, financially robust proposals that exploit opportunities. Interest and energy to build channel and customer development and growth Preferred experience: A working understanding of marketing, supply chain and financial management. Prepared to participate in business development project Experience and expertise of working in Consumer Healthcare Technical skills: Harnesses a partnership approach whereby both parties are in mutual agreement of a vision for the future and how to go about executing it. In addition, the championing of joint business plans to achieve commercial targets and seek out further opportunities for growth is an incremental aspect of this role. A cross functional approach to collaborating with customers, experts and internal colleagues is needed to ensure high levels of forecast accuracy. Hence, a best practice approach to measuring the effectiveness of sales activity needs to be established and well communicated, so that customers can feel confident in agreeing business propositions. Working with customers / experts to gain insight that can create sales proposals that deliver mutual profitable growth. This also requires the individual to assess a range of scenarios from the customer’s perspective also, so that our competitive position is continually strengthened and challenged for improvements. Leveraging strong relationships to ensure customer agreements deliver profitably and continually strengthen the relationship.
