We are looking for an Assistant Operations Manager to join us at Immingham to lead the operations teams in the Inner Dock Terminal across the Humber incorporating the ports of Immingham, Hull, Grimsby and Goole.
Start Date – March 2025
Accountabilities
* Responsible for the management and development of a high performing, safety and productivity driven team made up of two land side operators and vessel operatives.
* Responsible for ensuring that all vessel discharge/loading operations are planned, managed, and executed in a safe, efficient, and productive manner.
* Collaborates with the Operations Manager, Inner dock, on an ongoing basis to enhance and improve the terminal’s dust and general housekeeping standards.
* Responsible for implementing the daily operations plan, ensuring that operatives are provided with the correct information, instruction, and training to complete the KPIs / SLAs.
* Ensure procedures, SSOW, risk assessments and permits are always adhered to.
* In the event of an emergency and as part of the Terminal’s emergency response plan, you will be responsible for acting as a site main controller.
* Deputises for the Operations Manager as required.
Skills, experiences, qualifications, and competencies
* Proven Operations Management experience with regards to vessel discharging and loading operations.
* A safety focused individual with a proven track record of managing the safety of a large team in a high-paced, intense environment.
* Articulate and able to use a variety of communication channels.
* Demonstrable evidence of motivating others, whilst demonstrating energy and enthusiasm.
* Able to deal with business ambiguity.
* Strong IT skills evidenced in an operational environment.
* Able to manage resources to deal with an ever-changing schedule.
