We are seeking a creative, organised and self-motivated Content Producer to support the delivery of a proactive and efficient corporate communications service within Thanet District Council. The ideal candidate will be a natural storyteller with a passion for creating engaging content and excited about promoting the council’s services to its 140,000 residents and stakeholders. You will have proven digital communications experience and understand the nuances of producing content on behalf of an organisation or business. You will be looking to take your career forward within a dynamic, friendly and supportive team. The role is diverse and fast-paced, requiring expertise across the communications portfolio. You will be curious, with a nose for identifying stories and a natural flair for generating content for a range of external audiences. This includes producing corporate and promotional videos, images and artwork, graphics, text, web pages, and social media content. You will also have a key role in producing internal communications for staff and elected members. Reporting to the Strategic Communications Manager, you will build strong working relationships with internal and external peers, working with the team to deliver a multi-channel communications programme. You will support the management of the council’s social media channels, develop content for a range of different audiences, keep up-to-date with digital trends and developments and identify opportunities to pilot new digital content formats. Experience, skills and attributes Applicants should demonstrate the experience, skills and attributes set out in the full job description, which include but are not limited to the following: Experience working in a busy communications role. Experience in gathering, editing and scheduling engaging social content. Experience in day-to-day social media management on behalf of an organisation and ensuring appropriate use. Demonstrable experience working with Adobe Creative Cloud, including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere Pro. Ability to script, storyboard, shoot, and edit video content. Ability to plan, shoot and edit photographic content. Ability to write for a range of different platforms. Monitoring and reporting on content effectiveness, reach and engagement. A team player mindset with the ability to develop strong working relationships. Discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential matters.
