Quantity Surveyor (Demolition & Enabling Works) A well-established demolition and enabling works contractor is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to oversee the commercial and contractual management of projects from inception to final account. The role involves close collaboration with project teams and support functions to build strong relationships with clients and the supply chain, ensuring successful commercial outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Producing applications for payment, including valuation of variations and loss and/or expense. Agreeing interim payments with clients and monitoring payment notices. Preparing project budgets in conjunction with contracts managers and operations teams. Managing the monthly reporting/CVR process and monitoring budgets against costs. Sending subcontractor enquiries, analysing quotations, placing orders, and agreeing final accounts. Assisting in the preparation of tenders. Ensuring contractual obligations are fulfilled. Advising contracts managers on commercial matters, including variations and delays. Conducting site visits to monitor variations and ensuring site records are maintained. Managing and motivating teams while setting clear expectations and providing feedback. Developing and maintaining relationships with key clients to enhance company reputation. Preparing concise commercial reports providing an overview of contractual performance, risks, and opportunities. What We’re Looking For: Strong commercial awareness with the ability to communicate financial and contractual matters clearly. Understanding of JCT Standard Forms of Contract and similar agreements. Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to perform under pressure. Proficiency in MS Office and finance systems. Experience in a Quantity Surveying role, ideally within the demolition or enabling works sector. Experience in subcontract procurement and contract placement.
