About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced senior carer to join our team. This role involves delivering exceptional care, supervising care workers, handling administrative responsibilities, participating in on-call duties, and contributing to risk assessments and care planning. Applicants must have at least 2 years of experience working in the UK care sector. This position is ideal for an experienced carer ready to step up or an established senior carer seeking a new opportunity. Sponsorship may be available for eligible candidates.
Main Duties
* Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming.
* Administer medication as per care plans and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition.
* Develop and implement individualized care plans based on clients’ needs and preferences.
* Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
* Assist with mobility and transportation needs, including driving clients to appointments or social activities.
* Maintain accurate records of care provided, including any changes in health status or behaviour.
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive case management.
* Respond promptly to emergencies and provide first aid when necessary.
* Provide high-quality, person-centered care to clients.
* Supervise, mentor, and support a team of care workers, ensuring they meet performance standards.
* Contribute to and implement risk assessments and care plans.
* Monitor and document residents’/clients’ health, wellbeing, and care plans using digital systems.
* Manage staff schedules, maintain accurate records, and complete administrative tasks.
* Participate in on-call duties as part of the team’s support system.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and care standards.
* Build strong relationships with residents/clients, families, and external professionals.
Qualifications
* Must have at least 2 years of experience working in the UK care sector.
* Knowledge of first aid practices is advantageous.
* Familiarity with care plans and medication administration protocols is beneficial.
* Strong understanding of medical terminology to facilitate effective communication within the healthcare team.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
* A valid driving license and access to a car required for transportation duties.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in various situations.
* Willingness to complete NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care within 2 years (if not already attained).
* Experience in roster management.
Salary and Benefits
Salary: £13.50 to £14.00 per hour
