An all-through school in the Northampton area is seeking a dedicated and experienced SENCO to join their team on a temporary to permanent basis.
Position:SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator)
Location:Northampton
Start Date:ASAP
Working Days:5 days a week
Salary:Competitive day rate, dependent on experience
About the Role:We are looking for a qualified SENCO to lead our SEN provision and ensure that all students receive the support they need to thrive. However, we also welcome applications from candidates with substantial experience as a SEN TA (Teaching Assistant) or HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant).
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement SEN policies and practices
* Coordinate and manage SEN support across the school
* Work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies
* Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEN provision
* Provide training and support to staff on SEN issues
Requirements:
* Qualified SENCO or significant experience as a SEN TA/HLTA
* Strong understanding of SEN legislation and best practices
* Excellent communication and organizational skills
* Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents
