Lead Electrical Panel Wirer
Location: Worcester
Salary: £14.50 - £16.00 an hour

Job Description / Main Objectives / Purpose of the Role:
To manufacture a variety of control panels designed for use in an engine/drivetrain test cell.
To wire equipment (e.g., pumps, motors, sensors) within products or test cells.
To be an experienced member of the team who can support and provide guidance to less experienced staff members.
Main Responsibilities / Accountability:
1. Routes, wires, assembles, and installs electrical and electronic components in units, such as main junction and terminal boxes, main control switch panels, and instrument panels, according to electrical and mechanical engineering drawing specifications.
2. Reads and interprets Bill of Materials and schematic drawings.
3. Can solder to a reasonable standard for wiring connectors and manufacturing looms.
4. Has basic mechanical skills: marking out, drilling, cutting panels.
5. Ensures all work is delivered to the highest possible standard in a timely fashion.
6. Interprets technical drawings and provides feedback where appropriate on errors/suggesting changes to originator using the company's ISO change control procedures.
7. Maintains good paperwork records.
8. Supports the team by addressing problems/issues that can be resolved within the department.
9. Checks the build quality of work being produced by other team members when required and provides input to help define and improve build standards for the department.
10. Supports less experienced staff and apprentices as required.
11. Suggests improvement ideas to aid efficiency and productivity.
12. Helps manage floor stock levels to ensure consumables are available for the build process.
Personal Characteristics & Skills:
1. Ability to interpret electrical drawings.
2. Extensive experience of panel building and machine wiring.
3. Good attention to detail.
4. Methodical approach.
5. Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team.
6. Desire to learn and improve.
7. Understanding of the following standards: BS7671, BS EN (phone number removed):2018, and EN13849.
8. Good problem-solving skills.
9. Good communication skills.
