Electrical Maintenance Heavy Plant Engineer
Electrical Shift Maintenance Plant Engineer Salary: £36,500 per annum (rising to £37,500 per annum following successful completion of probation period; this includes shift allowance). Plus, you will receive a bonus. Acorn by Synergie is currently seeking an Electrical Shift Maintenance Engineer on behalf of their client to work as part of a multi-skilled team. The role involves carrying out PPM activities alongside reactive maintenance activities in a busy manufacturing environment. The shift pattern will be a 15-shift pattern of 8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday. You'll work a week of days (7am-3pm), a week of backs (3pm-11pm), and a week of nights (11pm-7am).
What You Will Need:
Our client is looking for individuals who are capable of working alongside a group of multi-skilled engineers, but who can also work independently when required. You will be a qualified electrician and hold a relevant electrical Level 3 qualification (NVQ, ONC, BTEC etc.); 18th Edition and basic mechanical knowledge are also advantageous for this role. We're also keen to hear from individuals who have:
1. Experience with low voltage electrical systems, drives, and PLCs.
2. Ability to fault find within electrical systems and perform root cause failure analyses on electrical systems.
3. Experience of working with computerized maintenance management systems (SAP PM experience would be ideal).
What You Will Do:
The Electrician will be expected to maintain maximum efficiency of machinery whilst maintaining the highest Health & Safety standards, ensuring all maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with the site maintenance procedures. Other responsibilities will also include, but are not limited to:
1. Prepare and carry out electrical maintenance activities across the plant.
2. Troubleshoot relay control circuits.
3. Ensure all engineering activities (preventive, corrective, breakdown, and shutdown maintenance) are recorded in the correct manner using the site MMS.
4. Ability to work with different types of drives, AC/DC motors, and perform basic PLC fault finding.
5. Interpreting electrical drawings.
6. Contribute to decreasing both the total life cycle cost of assets and the cost of maintenance.
7. Ensure that all assets within the designated areas of responsibility are maintained to high engineering standards, which consistently contribute to achieving business objectives.
8. Identify and implement plant area improvement activities that support the continuous improvement of plant availability, safety, the environment, and asset performance.
