Starting April 2025 or earlier if possible
Summerhill is a vibrant, successful 11-16 community school with outstanding facilities, highly professional staff, and students who are a joy to teach and eager to learn.
Our results are the best in the Dudley Borough; however, we are so much more than that. The opportunity for students to develop their character, profile, and cultural capital is evident in everything that we do. Summerhill School is founded on the ethos of care and our House system of four Houses, one family.
The post-holder will work in a dynamic, driven team delivering outstanding provision through engaging lessons and exciting enrichment opportunities.
We are looking to appoint an outstanding Head of Computing who will build upon the Computing success of the school and lead and develop new opportunities. You will plan and deliver stimulating and challenging lessons while setting appropriate and challenging work for all abilities. All students have dedicated Computing lessons in KS3, while at KS4 we currently offer GCSE Computer Science and the Eduqas Vocational Award in ICT (Level 1/2 Technical Award).
You need to be determined to drive up standards, have a positive approach, and be committed to making a difference. In return, you will work in an innovative and supportive school. We have an inclusive culture that attracts, welcomes, celebrates, retains, and develops fantastic people. We have high expectations for all students and staff and aim to be brilliant in all we do. We are looking for staff who share this vision!
The post is suitable for either an experienced Head of Computing wanting to work with our wonderful students or for someone starting out on their leadership journey, where you will receive high-quality training and support.
