Applications are invited from suitably-experienced Staff Nurses to join the busy Day Procedure Unit team within the major Health facility on the beautiful Island of Guernsey, in the Channel Islands.You will have some basic Scrub skills and current or recent Surgical or Day Surgery Ward experience and this role also offers the opportunity to further your knowledge and skills in Recovery, Endoscopy and Pre-assessment. The Unit comprises; a 19 bedded ward area with additional seated waiting areas for ambulatory patients, a minor operation/procedure room with a two-bedded post anaesthetic recovery unit and an Endoscopy Suite.Patients attend the unit for a variety of surgical, dental, interventional radiological and other diagnostic procedures including endoscopy and main theatres for more complex Day Surgery cases and then recovered back on the Unit. Please note; Guernsey has adopted the AfC banding system, but have applied their own salary scale. The current Band 5 salary range is £36,900 to £47,590 plus an annual bonus of £1,605 and higher unsocial hours enhancements; 36 evening/Saturday and 72 Sunday/BH.Annual leave starts at 36 days up to 42 days with full credit for NHS service for annual leave and sick leave.The island of Guernsey is in the Channel Islands and has a population of 65,000.
