Location: Hybrid, Walsall based but with travel
Salary: up to £70k plus car/allowance + bonus and benefits
A fantastic new opportunity for a Commercial Manager to join our Commercial team. Your expertise will be pivotal in managing the commercial processes across the project lifecycle, ensuring timely, budget-friendly, and high-quality contract deliveries. Our projects typically range from £250k to £2M encompassing both commercial, Mechanical & Electrical aspects within the water industry. You'll be based out of our Walsall office with occasional visits to our Altham office. What's the role:
1. Control costs and effectively manage budgets, reporting to the SMT on a monthly basis.
2. Working with the SMT to develop and set annual business budgets and strategy for development and growth.
3. Ensure the team complies with all Regulations and Company Policies & Processes.
4. Developing and improving Commercial Policies and Procedures.
5. Manage and support projects on commercial and supplier contracting aspects of projects across the business unit.
6. Assess and report on commercial aspects of project performance and escalate as appropriate.
7. Understand the requirements of the Customers and ensure that the Project is managed commercially to satisfy those requirements and in keeping with Customer Focus Strategy.
8. Effectively manage change and operational efficiency, continuously identify areas for business improvement.
9. Manage relationships with key external and internal stakeholders.
10. Ensuring Monthly Commercial Reports are completed accurately and timeously.
11. Aiding with Business Development activities, including assisting with Framework and Bid submission packs.
12. To ensure that the strategy, policy, culture and standards established by the Senior Management Team are effectively deployed within the commercial team.
What you'll need:
1. Appropriate qualifications, and professional membership of the RICS, CIOB or ICE.
2. A comprehensive working knowledge of NEC3 & 4 contracts, including Options A & C.
3. A working knowledge of IChemE, JCT and MF1 forms of contract.
4. Ability to drive and influence people to work to dates/programme.
5. Ability to break complex matters down and communicate concisely and effectively to Senior Management Team (written and verbal).
6. Exceptional negotiation, leadership and communication skills are required, coupled with an ability to influence through others.
