At Bath & North East Somerset Council, we have one overriding purpose: to improve people’s lives.

About the Team
We are looking for a Care Assistant (Reablement) to be based in one of our Extra Care Services at Hawthorn Court on a part-time basis. This permanent role is for 28 hours per week and involves a rota system which will include working split shifts, morning and afternoon/evening. You will also be working every other weekend with some bank holidays for which enhancements are paid.
The Hawthorn Court offers a vibrant community atmosphere in Keynsham, easily accessible via public transport or car.
What is Extra Care?
Extra Care Housing is for adults who have some care needs, with an assured tenancy in a self-contained flat in a purpose-built or adapted scheme. Our Extra Care housing services have been rated ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in June 2022.
As a Care Assistant (Reablement), you will:
* Assist tenants with personal care activities such as washing, personal hygiene, and dressing.
* Promote tenants’ independence, choice, dignity, and respect by delivering the best standards of care.
* Adhere to and complete accurate and timely records of the care and support provided to tenants.
* Provide support to access third party and NHS services.
* Be a strong team player and work on your own initiative when needed.
* Promote lifestyle choice, offering individuals the opportunity and motivation to retain independence and stay in control of their lives.
About You
Previous experience of working in care would be an advantage, but a commitment to deliver quality care is essential, and full training will be provided. This opportunity is ideal for an individual aiming to develop their career and gain hands-on experience in a thriving and friendly workplace.
If you believe that you can make a real and positive difference to the lives of our tenants, we would love to hear from you.
