Job summary To act as a Medical Reception/Administrator who mediates between the GP/Nurse/Clinical teams and the patients of the practice. Receive, assist, and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient, and effective way and in the delivery of Medical Administration. Main duties of the job 1. Receive patients requests for advice and assistance on the telephone or face to face in a prompt, friendly and efficient fashion. 2. Use Systm1 to make appointments for patients with the clinical team. 3. Using your own judgment and communication skills to ensure that patients with no prior appointment but who need urgent consultation are seen in a logical and non disruptive manner. 4. Explain practice arrangements for formal requirements to new patients and those seeking temporary cover, including overseas visitors. Ensure procedures are completed. 5. Advise patients of relevant charges for private (non-General Medical Services) services, and deal with payments according to practice procedure. 6. Taking requests for home visits and sending on to relevant staff, stating all relevant information, and where necessary inform the doctor. 7.
