Mechanical Design Engineer
Formula 1 - Northampton – 12 month contract
Hybrid - 3 days a week on site
This amazing long-term contract role for a Mechanical Design Engineer is a unique opportunity to showcase your expertise and skills with a world-leading Formula 1 organisation.
You will be a key member within the team and the person that secures this position will be crucial to the success of this dynamic company on its F1 projects. The duration of this contract is estimated to be 12 months initially (currently running until the end of December 2025) and will be inside IR35.
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to work on our future F1 Powertrain designs.
What you will do
The role of mechanical design is more than just driving CAD. You will, of course, be using CAD to create and modify geometry (in Catia or NX) but will also be expected to be capable in the following:
* Good understanding of the CAE/FEM process and perhaps be able to do simple hand calculations.
* Have knowledge of basic material properties or be capable of doing accurate geometry of engine parts/ancillaries.
What you will need:
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering or experience in lieu.
* Be fluent in NX or Catia solid modelling.
* Be capable of demonstrating recent experience of concept design of highly stressed metallic parts.
* Consistent & stable history of employment/engagement.
* Authorised to work in the UK (no sponsorship available).
