Hours: 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 9:00-17:00)
Are you a dedicated and experienced Social Worker passionate about supporting adults with learning disabilities? Our client in Camden is seeking a qualified Social Worker to join our Learning Disabilities service on a temporary basis, providing high-quality support to individuals and their carers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct assessments for adults with learning disabilities and their carers, focusing on strengths-based approaches to identify needs, risks, and capacity.
2. Respond effectively to unexpected events and crises, recognising signs of harm, abuse, or neglect and addressing these appropriately.
3. Provide backup for the First Contact (duty) service, supporting urgent cases and offering advice to individuals contacting the service.
4. Manage a varied caseload, prioritising statutory responsibilities and tasks to ensure efficient and effective support.
5. Carry out interviews, Mental Capacity Act assessments, observations, and gather information from clients, informal networks, and partner agencies to develop holistic assessments of needs.
6. Develop and monitor personalised support plans, ensuring individuals are at the centre of decision-making processes.
7. Undertake risk assessments, creating positive risk management strategies and protection plans where needed.
What We're Looking For:
1. A qualified Social Worker with a proven track record of working with adults with learning disabilities.
2. Strong knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act and the ability to perform comprehensive risk assessments.
3. Excellent communication and organisational skills to manage a diverse and complex caseload.
4. Ability to deliver strengths-based interventions and provide effective advice in line with Adult Social Care operational principles.
5. A proactive, empathetic, and professional approach to working with vulnerable adults and their carers.
