Job summary
DSFS requires a highly motivated Estates Officer (Mechanical) who will be based within the estates department at Chesterfield Royal Hospital. The role will work within a team of Estates Officers and the team will be contribute towards managing safe systems of work for the complete range of mechanical disciplines - Water, Ventilation, Medical Gas, Pressure Systems, Natural Gas & Boiler House Management.
The role would be required to participate in any future estates on-call manager rota. This would attract additional payments on top of the stated salary range. There will be regular requirements to work outside the normal estates hours (08:00 - 16:00 Monday to Friday) to manage service isolations to facilitate capital projects and hospital operations work and so a flexible approach to working hours is required.
The post-holder will be responsible for ensuring the department meets all statutory requirements with regards to management of the above safe systems of work and can evidence that if requested.
The role will require occasional travel to our customers based outside of Chesterfield Royal Hospital, such as the community clinics that we manage for Royal Primary Care.
Main duties of the job
Managing defined areas of responsibility within mechanical disciplines as determined by the line manager, ensuring that we operate safe systems of work in accordance with HTMs and relevant statutory documents for all mechanical disciplines.
Being appointed and acting as an Authorised Person for the site for multiple mechanical disciplines, including Lead Authorised Person roles in line with previous experience and training.
Providing AP support and engineering advice to Capital Projects Managers, including isolations where appropriate.
Supporting the Senior Estates Officer in dealing promptly with actions identified in meetings, Authorising Engineer audits and internal audits as appropriate.
Ensuring PPMs for all mechanical disciplines are kept up to date in MICAD and Zetasafe.
Producing governance reports to demonstrate full compliance with HTM documents and presenting them at Technical Advisory and Safety Group meetings as appropriate.
Ensuring the online file repositories for mechanical specialisms remain tidy and organised and that all relevant documents are filed in a logical manner and easy to find.
Managing specialist contractors and estates team members in accordance with relevant policies, specifications, HTMs and regulations.
Providing training to workshop staff as required.
