The Institute for Future Cities is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to support its growth strategy - working closely with its senior management team to drive forward its research goals, and to extend partnerships globally. You will identify funding opportunities to help the Institute achieve its strategic research and internationalisation goals. You will work as part of a small successful team - with the Institute directors, academics, and Faculty and University professional teams, to develop and deliver successful funding proposals.
Cities across the world have a vital role to play in meeting the UN Sustainable Development Goals – including tackling climate change and reducing poverty. You will be working in an exciting area that brings academics, policy makers and the commercial sector together to help improve the quality of life for citizens globally, through tackling important urban challenges. The post offers opportunity to build professional networks, develop skills, and gain global experience.
To be successful you must have proven funding proposal development skills – ideally in the Higher Education sector. You should be confident, with strong communication and interpersonal skills, as your role will be a vital point of contact with potential funders, clients and partners. Experience in building partnerships and networks will be useful – as would experience working in areas relevant to urban futures - such as sustainability, resilience, health, urban planning, and international development. Experience of project management is desirable. You will be joining a highly motivated and focused team who have a strong track record in assisting the University and our partners achieve objectives that make a positive difference for the world.
