Electrical Design Engineer
Pertemps are pleased to be working with a top Fire and security company who are seeking a talented and innovative Electrical Design Engineer. If you have a strong background in electrical design and have a keen eye for detail, this is the opportunity for you!
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design fire alarm systems, evacuation alert systems, and sprinkler alarms.
2. Create and maintain a set of drawing standards for the division.
3. Provide technical support to the Electrical Division.
4. Collaborate with the residential and commercial sprinkler design teams to assist with schematic monitoring.
5. Generate accurate and detailed electrical drawings and schematics using AutoCAD Electrical to ensure first-time correct designs.
6. Produce electrical Bills of Materials (BOMs).
7. Create and update as-built drawings to reflect changes made during construction.
8. Ensure that all electrical drawings are updated promptly throughout the project lifecycle and shared with relevant departments.
9. Maintain a database of electrical devices to ensure consistency across projects.
10. Conduct site surveys to capture all relevant data and perform ‘As-Built’ installation surveys to amend construction issued deliverables.
11. Ensure full adherence to Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality management policies and procedures in all work.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Previous experience in a drafting or electrical design role is essential.
2. Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality technical drawings.
3. Experience with AutoCAD (preferably AutoCAD Electrical) is required.
4. Ability to work collaboratively within a team, as well as being self-motivated.
5. Skilled in creating 2D engineering drawings and managing Bills of Materials (BOMs).
6. Proficient in design-related documentation, including generating design files, performing relevant calculations, and ensuring UKCA/CE compliance.
7. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to lead design concept and scope meetings.
8. Proactive in identifying and proposing improvements to product designs.
9. A Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline is required.
10. Familiarity with electrical/electronic products is advantageous.
11. Strong mechanical design skills and the ability to perform engineering calculations.
This is a Hybrid role with flexibility for working remotely and in the office.
Salary: 30k-50k DOE
