To provide a comprehensive and efficient medical secretary and personal assistant service for the Clinical Director to the Department of Haematology and to provide the highest standard of care to all patients and thus contribute to the overall efficiency and development of the service.
The post holder will be required to work closely with the clinical team to develop a clear understanding of the clinical service and provide a very high standard of secretarial work alongside personal assistant duties.
The post holder will be required to be flexible to meet the needs of the service.
Key Responsibilities:
* To provide a comprehensive secretarial and personal assistant service to the Department in line with existing and changing requirements.
* Assist consultants with diary management, arranging meetings and appointments as required.
* Type patient letters relating to clinic appointments, test results, re-referrals, discharge summaries or any other patient & non-patient related correspondence from audio, shorthand, longhand, or verbal dictation in line with Trust guidelines.
* Action e-mail, voicemail, post, telephone calls, messages and photocopying.
* Ensure the patient 18 week pathway is monitored and observed at all times during all processes undertaken in this role. This will include actively managing the 18 week pathway on return of test results.
