We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Business Sanctions Controller to join our Pershing EMEA CAO team. Pershing provides a broad range of financial business solutions to investment banks, broker-dealers, wealth managers, financial planners, and advisers across EMEA. We provide sophisticated front-end technology and flexible middle office capabilities with execution, settlement, and custody services. These are supported by a robust regulatory and compliance framework with dedicated client asset experience and expertise. This role is located in Liverpool and is hybrid, requiring 4 days in the office.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
1. Serve as the first point of contact for business sanctions-related inquiries, including escalation to Global Sanctions Compliance, as necessary, and draft and coordinate external sanctions specific client outreach, where needed.
2. Monitor, assess, develop, and implement applicable sanctions controls within the Business.
3. Identify, escalate, and coordinate sanctions issues and relevant screening gaps to GSC and ESOS, where required, and monitor and track until remediated.
4. Manage a team of 3 direct reports.
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
1. Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
2. Prior experience of managing teams.
3. Relevant number of years’ experience working in a Sanctions or AML role (1LOD or 2LOD).
4. Experience in trading, brokerage, fraud, or law is preferred.
