Stantec's Water Sector Project Manager
Stantec's Water sector teams are building on what have been a very successful few years. Our growth strategy within the Water division for 2024 and beyond is exciting and is creating great opportunities for our teams. As part of this growth, we are looking to recruit a Project Manager based from our High Wycombe, London, or Reading offices (hybrid working supported).
As a Project Manager within our Water sector, you will be working on a variety of projects across the sector - helping our clients develop better ways of obtaining, cleaning, and distributing water for our local communities. You will be partnering with the top Water clients in the UK, with projects/clients including:
1. Thames Water: Design assurance for Thames Water Capital Delivery, Infrastructure design & build contracts, and multiple engineering studies and assessments for Thames Water across all delivery streams.
2. High Speed Rail Phase 2B (HS2): Our team is partnering with Bechtel in their role as delivery partner for the HS2 Phase 2B Hybrid Bill, under an 8-year contract. Our job? Supporting the management of a team of over 100 professional staff, located at HS2’s Snow Hill office in Birmingham.
3. Southern Water: Stantec is a Strategic Solutions Partner to Southern Water and is working together on an iconic water project – Water for Life Hampshire.
In this role, you will be given the opportunity to work alongside our technical teams and will be involved in the preparation of project bids and project planning, as well as building close relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will be assisting in the delivery of projects from inception to completion and will ensure that they are delivered on time, to budget, and of high quality.
We know our continuing success and development depends on yours, so we go all the way when it comes to giving you the support you need to be the very best. All of our Project Managers will be automatically enrolled in the PM Boot Camp, which is a corporate-wide training programme covering important aspects of Project Management – we can cater for those looking to gain your Project Management Qualification (PMQ) or additional accreditations.
The Project Management Team is supportive, friendly, and professional – you will feel welcome from the moment you step foot in the door.
ABOUT YOU
You will have prior experience within a project management role - most likely within the Water, Utilities, or related Infrastructure sectors - in which you will have been responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
You will have experience of managing multiple deadlines and building successful working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders within an NEC contract.
Any sort of project management qualification, such as APMQ, would be beneficial, but if you haven't had the opportunity to gain formal qualifications, then this is something we can support you with.
An interesting, varied project management career awaits. Below is a link to a career story from one of the team and examples of some of the great projects we have delivered:
