Job Advertisement: Teaching Assistant for SEND Base (KS2) - Full Time
Location: Halton, Cheshire
Start Date: September 2024
Salary: £12 - £15 per hour (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Axcis are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) base, working with Key Stage 2 students. This is a full-time, long-term position starting in September 2024. The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting children with diverse needs and committed to helping them achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide one-on-one and small group support to KS2 students with SEND, tailored to their individual needs.
2. Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging and effective lessons.
3. Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
4. Support students with personal care and mobility, if required.
5. Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
6. Collaborate with other professionals, including speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists.
7. Encourage social and emotional development through positive interactions and structured activities.
Requirements:
1. Previous experience working with children with SEND essential.
2. A relevant qualification in Education, Childcare, or Special Educational Needs (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning).

1. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
2. Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
3. Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
4. Commitment to ongoing professional development.
