Vacancy - Interim Group Financial Reporting Accountant
Are you seeking a role in which you can support one of the UK’s largest businesses with the provision of robust, timely and commercially focused financial information and reports? Do you have experience helping to deliver year-end statutory reporting for a large group and its subsidiaries alongside experience of management accounting? We are seeking a Group Financial Reporting Accountant to join our team at the Port of Liverpool and help us keep the world moving! This role is initially for a 14 months Fixed Term Contract.
Your Role
In this role you will support the Deputy Group Financial Controller and Group Financial Reporting and Corporate Projects Accountant in planning, coordinating and project managing the half-year and year-end close processes, including reporting from divisional finance managers and interaction with tax, treasury and other colleagues. In addition, you will also assist with the preparation of the annual group and subsidiary statutory accounts (FRS 102).
The role also includes the preparation of financial reporting to senior management regarding financial performance, variances and trends, and may also include working alongside colleagues in the Group Management Accounts Team to support month-end management reporting.
You will support with ad hoc financial/corporate projects, such as changes of accounting standards (e.g. FRS 102 lease accounting/UK GAAP to IFRS), and occasionally take ownership of projects within the area of systems and process development, seeing them through to successful implementation. You will also help provide Group Finance support to the Group Treasurer and Group Head of Tax when required.
What you'll bring
You will be an experienced Accountant, ideally ACA qualified though ACCA/CIMA alongside relevant experience will also be considered. With good knowledge of UK GAAP, you will also have knowledge and experience of year end audit reporting processes and preparation/review of statutory financial statements.
You will have relevant management accounting experience, with excellent organisational skills including the ability to work to deadlines and prioritise tasks. You will have strong IT skills, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint; knowledge of SAP would be beneficial, but is not essential as training will be provided. Previous experience coaching a team or other colleagues would be advantageous.
